Apples with COBB grills

We invite you to meet and have an interesting time on this sunny autumn Saturday (September 19) at Tad Ivanauskas' homestead on the outskirts of Kaunas.

There will be a celebration dedicated to everyone who cares about apples and a good time in a wonderful environment - "Growing Obelynė".

From 12:00 to 15:00 we - the griliai.lt team - will participate along with many other entertainments and educations. We will bake, smoke, serve dishes with apples. We will pick apples from Lithuanian varieties of apple trees, planted by the famous Tadas Ivanauskas with his own hands!

We will bake on ideal for trips and picnics COBB grills, so we especially invite to the meeting enthusiasts of this grill and perhaps those who are considering purchasing it. Of course, we welcome all the other owners of grills - to help, get to know each other, consult and have a fun and meaningful time.

We invite everyone, even those who are not interested in apples: Tadas Ivanauskas homestead is an undiscovered cozy haven of nature for Kaunians on the outskirts of the city for a quiet walk and time surrounded by interesting plants.

The event will also include:
- tasting of Lithuanian varieties of apples
- cooking an apple on a fire
- education in making autumn compositions
- ABC tea
- plein air painting "Still life with apples"
- education about planting and caring for apple trees
At the same time, 100 apple tree seedlings will be distributed to the residents of the Academy.

The "Growing Obelynė" event is organized by the Academic Community Center in cooperation with Kaunas 2022 - the European Capital of Culture and the Kaunas District Museum.
