About Smart Garden Project i-Garden:

This is a unique project - the only smart garden in Latvia "Latvijas i-Dārzs". The goal of the project is to make a robot that will move between plant beds, photograph and scan plants with different cameras in order to monitor the development of plants, control the irrigation system, detect the appearance of diseases and pests in time, and collect information in the database.
At the beginning of June of this year, the first stage of the project was completed - an autonomous digital irrigation system was installed in the garden. The system provides that plant watering can be managed and controlled from anywhere in the world. The system will follow the meteorological forecast and adjust the required amount of water accordingly.
Plots of perennial collections are intended for plant phenological studies and comparisons, as well as for collecting data on plant development. Plants are grouped according to growth requirements and decorativeness, creating not only practical and research-relevant, but also compositionally creative plant groups and meadow-like plantings.
